For the Mind and the Heart, Come Hear the Music.

SaveCancelClo?Brazilian culture taught me lessons about peace making.
It taught me about forgiveness. It taught me about sadness, about putting it on and wearing it, like a dress, only to take it off and finding joy when it's inside out. With my songs, I teach people to be so quiet that they can hear their own heart whispering its lamentations and its losses, only to rejoice at being alive at last?.

ENSEMBLE
Grew up in a musical family in Rio de Janeiro (his mother was a violinist in the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra), he began his studies at the age of seven. At seventeen he was already a professional musician. His teachers include Eumir Deodato and the great Nadia Boulanger in Paris. During the 60's he led his own trio and toured with singers Elis Regina and Milton Nascimento. Adolfo wrote tunes that gained great success and have been recorded by such artists as Sergio Mendes, Stevie Wonder, Herb Alpert, Earl Klugh, Dionne Warwick and others. He won International Song Contests on two occasions. In 1985 Mr. Adolfo created his own school in Rio, Brazil. In addition he has been teaching and performing around the world. His publications in Brazil include seven books on different subjects and, internationally, one instructional video Secrets Of Brazilian Music published, by Warner Chappell and two books Brazilian Music Workshop and Phrasing In Brazilian Music, both published by Advance Music. Antonio Adolfo has served as the IAJE?s Latin American Section Coordinator for eight years.

"It is very difficult teaching our music to the world. Antonio Adolfo has a sense of synthesis that just great musicians have"
Antonio Carlos Jobim
